Quick answer
Across Sarpy County we install seamless gutters on new and existing homes, fit gutter guards matched to the trees overhead and replace runs dented by hail. That covers Papillion, Bellevue, La Vista, Gretna and Springfield, plus the acreages south toward the Platte River. Our own crews do the work, and you can call us around the clock.
Sarpy County was carved out of Douglas County in 1857 and named for the fur trader Peter Sarpy, with Papillion as its seat. It has been the growth engine of the metro lately, rising from 190,604 residents in 2020 to an estimated 208,303 in 2025.
That growth shapes the work. A lot of Sarpy jobs are houses still waiting on their first proper gutter system after a builder's starter package. The rest are older homes in Bellevue, the oldest continuously inhabited town in Nebraska, where the gutters have outlasted their hangers.
New subdivisions next to old river towns
Fields around Gretna and western Papillion have turned into subdivisions in a few short years, and Gretna grew by roughly 80 percent between 2020 and 2025. Builders often hang 5 inch gutters with too few downspouts, the yard gets sodded, and only later does the owner notice water sheeting over the front at an inside corner. On these jobs we usually add outlets, upsize to 3x4 downspouts and fit valley splash guards where two roof planes meet.
Bellevue and La Vista read differently. La Vista started in 1960 with a run of 335 modest homes, and Bellevue's older streets hold houses re-roofed over the years while the original fascia stayed underneath. Sectional gutters leaking at the joints are common in both, and replacement there starts with probing the boards and swapping soft lengths before a new seamless run goes up.
Where the big hail landed
Papillion and La Vista have taken some of the worst hail in the area recently. The April 26, 2024 storms dropped stones near 2 inches across in Papillion, and on June 25, 2024, reports of 3 to 3.5 inch hail came in from both cities. Hail that size does more than dent the lip; it can split miters, crush downspout elbows and knock guards loose.
Trees are the other half of the picture. Older streets carry silver maples that drop heavy crops of winged seed in late spring, and the cottonwoods along Papillion Creek and the Platte bottoms release fluff at about the same time. Those two seed falls are why guard choice matters more in Sarpy County than October leaf drop.

Stainless micro-mesh stops the fine fluff and shingle grit that slip through screens. On tall two-story homes in Papillion and Gretna it saves a ladder climb each spring.

Galvalume steel holds its shape under hail better than thin aluminum. For homes that have already replaced gutters once after a storm, it is worth pricing.

FAQ
Gutter questions from Sarpy County
Will builder-installed 5 inch gutters handle a new two-story in Gretna?
Sometimes, but not always. The large roof planes and steep pitches common on new two-stories push a lot of water to a few corners. If you see water pouring over at inside corners, or downspouts that cannot keep up in a heavy storm, adding outlets or moving to 6 inch gutters fixes it. We check the roof area draining to each downspout before recommending anything.
Which gutter guard works best under the cottonwoods near Papillion Creek?
Cottonwood fluff is fine and fibrous, so it slides through perforated screens and mats on top of foam inserts. Stainless micro-mesh is the most reliable choice we install for it, though the top surface still needs an occasional brushing after the seed drop. If your trees are mostly oak or maple with large leaves, a rigid screen can do the job for less.
Is it worth replacing hail-dented gutters in La Vista if they still drain?
Cosmetic dents alone do not stop water, but hail that cracks miters, flattens downspouts or breaks the paint film shortens the life of the system. Many homeowners replace gutters at the same time as a hail-damaged roof. We photograph dents with a scale, measure damaged runs and hand you the record; working out coverage stays between you and your insurer.
Do gutters go on before or after landscaping on a new Sarpy County home?
Before final grade and landscaping works best. Once roofing and fascia are done, we install gutters and set downspout locations, then your builder or landscaper grades around them and runs underground drain lines where needed. Doing it in that order avoids tearing up fresh sod later to move a downspout that empties onto the patio.
