Gutter Installation and Cleaning in Millard, Omaha, NE 68137
Millard covers a big stretch of southwest Omaha, and most of it is suburban streets of ranches, split-levels and two-stories with attached garages. Their gutters are often the first set the house ever had.

Quick answer
In Millard we mostly replace original builder gutters with seamless aluminum, clean out spring seed and fall leaves, fix sagging runs on long garage eaves and repair hail dents. Our crews roll new gutters on site to the exact length of each eave, so the long runs on these houses have no seams in the middle to leak. Call us when the gutters overflow or pull loose.
Ezra Millard laid out the town in 1870, it incorporated in 1885, and Omaha finally annexed it in 1971 after a long legal fight. Today Millard reaches from about 108th Street west to 204th Street, between Blondo and Harrison, so it is part of Omaha but big enough to feel like its own city.
Old Millard near Millard Avenue and L Street still has the original small downtown. Most of the rest grew as subdivision after subdivision, and those houses share a pattern: wide eaves, a two or three car garage on the front, and gutters that came with the house. When those builder gutters reach the end of their life, the problems show up in the same places on block after block.
Builder gutters on suburban Millard homes
Many original subdivision gutters were sectional or thin seamless aluminum hung with spikes and ferrules every few feet. After years of freeze and thaw the spikes back out, and the gutter tips forward over the garage door or front walk. On a long garage eave that sag holds water in the low spot, so the end near the downspout stays dry while the middle spills over.
When we replace them, we hang new 5-inch or 6-inch seamless aluminum with hidden hangers screwed through the fascia into the rafter tails, set the pitch to a string line and cut outlets where the roof actually sheds water. Split-levels get extra attention where a lower roof catches runoff from the upper one, because that lower gutter takes double the load in a storm.
Hail, seed drop and clay at the foundation
Southwest Omaha gets its share of hail. Storm records show 88 hail reports within about 10 miles of the city in 2024 alone, and on April 24, 2025 hail around 3 inches across fell in neighboring Ralston while golf ball sized stones hit parts of Omaha. Dented gutter faces and flattened downspout elbows are often the first visible sign a storm did damage to the roof above them.
Spring seed and autumn leaves are the other steady load. University of Nebraska Extension guidance says to clean gutters and downspouts twice a year and to grade soil about 2 percent away from the house. Many Millard yards have settled beside the foundation over the years, so we check grade at each downspout when we clean.

Seeds and shingle grit pack into the lower elbow first. When water pours over the front of the gutter beside the outlet, a blocked elbow is usually why.

FAQ
Gutter questions from Millard
Should Millard builder gutters be repaired or replaced?
If the gutters are sectional, leak at several seams and sag on more than one side, replacement usually costs less over time than chasing repairs. If they are seamless and mostly sound, rehanging a sagging stretch and resealing the corners can buy years. We look at the fascia, the seams and the pitch, then tell you plainly which route makes sense. See gutter replacement for what a tear-off involves.
How long does a gutter replacement take on a Millard two-story?
Most single-family homes in Millard are finished in one day. We remove the old gutters, check and fix any soft fascia, form new seamless runs on the truck in the driveway, hang them and set the downspouts. Larger homes with many roof sections or added downspout lines can stretch to a second day, and we tell you that before we begin.
Why does my Millard gutter overflow only over the garage?
Garage eaves are the longest straight runs on most Millard homes, and a single downspout at one end often cannot keep up. Add a sag in the middle and water collects there and spills over. The fix is usually rehanging the run to a true pitch and adding a second outlet and downspout at the far end of the garage.
How often should gutters be cleaned on a Millard house with young trees?
Twice a year suits most Millard homes, once after the late spring seed drop and once after the leaves are down in fall. Houses backing onto older trees or common ground may need a third visit. Our tree-by-tree cleaning guide explains how different species change the schedule, and our price guide lists typical cleaning ranges.
