Quick answer

We install seamless gutters and repair existing systems across Adams County, working out of our Juniata office. Beyond houses, we gutter detached garages, shops and pole barns, and we document hail damage after storms. If water is pouring off a roof edge onto a foundation, a gravel drive or a doorway, call us and we will plan the fix.

Adams County was created in 1867, organized in 1871 and named for President John Adams. Juniata, founded in 1871, held the county seat first, until Hastings won it in an 1878 contest after the railroad set its tracks about seven miles east. Today the county counts about 31,000 people spread over roughly 563 square miles of land, and Juniata is a small village of around 744 residents.

That spread shapes how we work. A county job might be a ranch house on a gravel road, a farmhouse with a wraparound porch, a 60-foot machine shed, or a house on a quiet Juniata block a few streets from our office. Because the crew and roll former are based right here, we can fit a single barn run or a porch repair into a day without making it a special trip.

Farmhouses, acreages and outbuildings

Older farmhouses often have several small roofs: a main gable, a porch, a mudroom addition, maybe a lean-to added later. Each one needs its own short gutter and a downspout that does not dump onto a step or into a window well. These houses also tend to sit on older foundations and crawlspaces, so we pay close attention to discharge, adding buried drain lines where a yard is too flat to shed water on its own.

Outbuildings are a big part of rural work. Metal roofs on shops and pole barns shed rain and snow fast, and a sliding sheet of snow can tear an ordinary gutter off in one go. On those buildings we use larger profiles, heavier coil or steel, stronger hangers set close together, and sometimes snow guards upslope so the gutter is not taking the full slide.

Open country weather

Shelterbelts break some of the wind, but most of the county is open, and storm wind and hail hit roof edges straight on. Nebraska ranks first in the nation for hail risk, and State Farm reported about 212 million dollars in Nebraska hail claims in 2022 alone. Dented gutters and crushed downspouts are often the clearest proof of hail size on a property, so we photograph them before anything gets replaced.

Winter swings matter too. The state now averages 16 fewer days below freezing than it used to, and multi-day thaws are more common, so snow melts, runs into gutters and refreezes overnight. Ice that builds in a flat or clogged run adds weight the hangers were never meant to carry. On north-facing eaves that stay shaded, heat cable can keep a channel open.

Common Adams County jobs

Garage, Shed and Barn Gutters

Shops, machine sheds and pole barns need wider gutters, heavier hangers and downspouts that move water away from doors and gravel pads. We plan for snow sliding off metal roofs before we hang anything.

After a hailstorm we measure and photograph dents on gutters, downspouts and trim on every building you want checked, so you have a clear record to share with your insurer before repairs begin.

Seamless Gutter Installation

Formed on site from one coil, a seamless run has no joints to open in wind and freeze. That matters on exposed rural houses where a weak seam gets tested every storm season.

Underground Downspout Drains

Flat yards and gravel drives leave water nowhere to go. A buried solid PVC line carries it to daylight or a pop-up emitter well away from the foundation. We call 811 before any digging.

Heated Gutter Cables

Shaded eaves on farmhouses can freeze solid in January. Self-regulating cable in the gutter and downspout keeps meltwater moving. It needs a GFCI outlet, and a new circuit is work for an electrician.

Our Juniata base and the county around it

Our office sits at Juniata on the west side of the county, with Hastings about seven miles east as the county seat and largest town. From there we cover farms, acreages and small towns across Adams County and head north into Hall County and Grand Island. For sheds and shops, see our page on garage and barn gutters, and for typical ranges, our price guide.

FAQ

Gutter questions from Adams County

Do you work on farm buildings and acreages outside Hastings in Adams County?

Yes. Rural work is a regular part of what our Juniata crew does: farmhouses, acreage homes, detached garages, shops, machine sheds and pole barns. The roll former travels with us, so we can form long runs to length right beside the building. Call us with a rough idea of the buildings and roof sizes, and we will plan the visit.

What gutter size works on a metal pole barn roof in Adams County?

Most pole barns need more than a standard 5-inch gutter. Metal roofs shed water quickly, and a large roof plane sends a lot of it to one edge. A 6-inch or larger profile with 3x4 downspouts is common, set with heavy hangers close together. Where snow slides off, snow guards upslope help protect the gutter.

Can you document hail damage on several buildings on one property?

We can. On a farm or acreage we check each building you name, photograph dents on gutters, downspouts and trim with a scale reference, and note which elevations took the worst of it. You then decide how to work with your insurer. We do not file claims or promise any outcome, but clear records make that conversation easier.

Where should downspouts drain on a flat rural Adams County lot?

Nebraska Extension suggests at least 5 feet from the foundation, and on flat ground farther is better. Long extensions work where nothing drives over them. Near drives and work areas, a buried PVC line to a daylight outlet or pop-up emitter keeps water away without being crushed. We avoid pointing water at gravel pads or doorways.
