Quick answer
In Papillion we install new seamless gutters, replace hail-damaged runs and downspouts, and add guards where trees drop seed and fluff. Every job starts with measuring the roof, checking the fascia and looking at where each downspout empties. Our crews work out of the Omaha office, and you can call us any time of day.
Papillion is the Sarpy County seat, platted in 1870 when the railroad came through, and its name comes from the French word for butterfly. The town has kept growing, from about 24,000 people in 2020 to an estimated 25,000 by 2025, and most of that growth has been new subdivisions spreading out from the older streets near downtown.
What Papillion homeowners call us about most is hail. The April 26, 2024 storms dropped stones up to about 2 inches across here, and a June 25 storm that same year brought reports of 3 to 3.5 inch hail in Papillion and La Vista. Aluminum gutters show every one of those hits.
From the old town grid to the newer cul-de-sacs
Near downtown you find story-and-a-half homes and postwar ranches with modest eaves and 5-inch gutters that have hung there a long time. Farther out, houses built in the last twenty or thirty years carry bigger, steeper roofs with several valleys, attached three-car garages and two-story walls meeting lower roof lines.
Those newer roofs push a lot of water to a few corners. A valley that empties onto a 5-inch gutter at an inside corner will overshoot it in a hard Papillion downpour, and the builder-grade 2x3 downspouts on many of these homes fill fast. When we replace hail-damaged gutters, we often suggest 6-inch gutters and 3x4 downspouts on the busiest runs instead of putting back the same undersized parts.
Hail country, then a soggy creek bottom
A 2025 review of NOAA and FEMA data ranked Nebraska first in the country for hail risk, and the area within about 10 miles of Omaha logged 88 hail reports in 2024 alone. Papillion sat near the middle of that year. Dents in a gutter stop being cosmetic once they flatten the front lip or kink the bottom, because water no longer flows evenly to the outlet.
Parts of town sit low along Papillion Creek and its branches, and yards there stay soft for days after a long rain. Carrying downspout water well away from the foundation, not just onto a splash block, keeps basements drier on those lots.

Services Papillion homes call for
Hail Damage Gutter Replacement
After the 2024 storms, many Papillion gutters carry dents that trap water. We photograph and measure the damage for your adjuster, then replace runs and downspouts once the claim is settled on your end.

Homeowners who have already replaced gutters after one hail storm sometimes want a tougher metal. Galvalume steel handles smaller stones and ladder bumps better than aluminum, though it is heavier and needs care at cut edges.
More on this service6-Inch Seamless Gutters
Newer two-story homes with steep roofs and deep valleys send more water than a 5-inch gutter can carry in a strong storm. Six inch runs paired with 3x4 downspouts handle those corners.

A roof replacement after hail means the gutters have to come down. We remove them carefully and rehang them with new hangers and fresh pitch, or tell you plainly when a bent run is not worth resetting.

Builder layouts often put one downspout at the far end of a long run. Adding outlets where the roof actually drains cuts overflow and spreads the water across more of the yard.

Maple seeds and cottonwood fluff blow in from creek-side trees every spring. A guard matched to what actually lands on your roof keeps outlets open between cleanings.

FAQ
Gutter questions from Papillion
Were Papillion gutters damaged in the June 2024 hail storm even if the roof looked fine?
Often, yes. Gutters and downspouts are softer than shingles and dent from hail that leaves a roof with only light marks. Look for dimples along the front face, flattened top lips, crushed downspout corners and dented elbows. If you are not sure, we can check every run, photograph the damage with a tape measure in frame and give you the record to share with your insurer.
Should I upgrade to 6-inch gutters when replacing hail-damaged ones in Papillion?
If your home has a steep roof, big roof planes or valleys that empty near one corner, the upgrade is usually worth it. A 6-inch gutter carries noticeably more water than a 5-inch one, and with 3x4 downspouts it stops the overflow many newer Papillion homes see in heavy rain. On a simple ranch, 5-inch is often fine. See our price guide for the difference.
Will steel gutters stop hail dents on my Papillion house?
Steel resists smaller hail and everyday knocks better than aluminum, but very large stones like the 3-inch hail reported in 2024 can dent almost anything. The real gain is fewer dents from moderate storms. Steel weighs more, needs solid fascia and can rust at cut edges if they are not sealed, so we talk through whether it suits your house first.
Can you take down and rehang gutters when my Papillion roof is replaced?
Yes. Roofers need the gutters off to install new drip edge and starter shingles. We take them down, store them, check each run for dents and loose seams, and rehang them with new hidden hangers and corrected pitch. If a run is too bent to go back up, we will show you and price a new seamless section instead.
